Lynn is the first painting of recent to not include movement from hands and fingers. I wanted to emphasize the idea of constraint by not including any extremities. The folds of the dress, mimicking folds of flesh, further exaggerate a feeling of confinement. The bright, jovial colors and ease of her pose help balance and offset this tension.
