About this piece:
I love images where the subject is blurred. (Francesca Woodman’s photographs and Francis Bacon’s paintings) I was playing around with the idea of photographing musicians’ hands when I came up with the idea for this painting. The face is normally the strongest focal point in my paintings, so in this one I relied on negative space to draw just as much attention to the hands as the face.
