Hazel

Acrylic on 14 x 18 in. birch wood panel, sides are 1.5 in. deep and painted turquoise

Hazel was inspired by a very large, large scarf I saw. The movement and folds of the material reminded me of the twists, folds and creases of a human body. When I started Hazel, the colors were very dark. I kept reworking her, lightning the colors each time until she was a mixture of neon and pastels.
