Some of these pieces begin with experimental cutting and layering, and as images fight with each other I develop something that works. This one is a good example of that process – it’s pretty simple from a compositional standpoint, but the banner-like thing that frames the figure is what it’s all about: intuitive angles and just the right amount of cropping. Fragments that seem way more random than they are.
