Acrylic paint, chalk and wax pastels on stretched, raw linen.
36” x 24” x 1.5”
About the Piece:
It’s important for me to leave room to explore in my studio practice. I tend to get bored easily, so trying something new is always important, helpful, and pretty much necessary. Last summer (2016) I started working with pastels (chalk and wax), which, other than in art class as a child, had never done. I thought the wax pastel and raw linen would pair together well. I also loved the idea of being able to incorporate the linen into the composition and serve as something other than a support.
