Graphite drawing of woman from antique photo collection on map with etched glass. Feather and pine needles nestled in a hand-built wood box. Ready to hang.
12″ x 12″ x 4″

My Dad taught me how to use the table saw years ago. I still use the original saw he found for me at a garage sale. It is small enough to move around my studio and perfect for my needs. This simple wooden box was cut, sanded, assembled and stained by me. The drawing of the woman (drawing on a map) is from an antique photograph found at a garage sale. The drawing is placed under glass that is etched with a dremel tool. Pine needles and one feather are assembled to finish the piece.

*This piece was selected for the South Carolina Biennial exhibition at 701 Center for Contemporary Art Columbia, SC in 2015.
